A 9-day journey from the south to the north of Morocco

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 2: Marrakesh – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will go from Marrakech towards the south crossing the great Atlas trough the Tizi-n-Tichka port which offers wonderful panoramic views over the mountains of the High Atlas. Here we could stop on the way to enjoy a refreshing tea of mint before continuing our way to arrive at Telouet for lunch.
You will be able to relax and appreciate the painteresque view of the Kasbah, with its interiors covered with floor tiles, iron decorated windows and nests of storks on the eroded pink towers.
Then we will take the “piste”, a road only passable for 4×4, towards Aït Benhaddou, passing through a valley where we will find a little Berber town. You will have time to make photos or videos and cross the river mounted on a mule before being taken to your hotel in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi dunes

We will leave Boumalne which opens up a road among the banks of the Dadés strewn with Kasbahs and ksours which gives the landscape a red and mallow ochered colour.

Is surrounded by stony plateaus where camels graze. At 1350 metres of altitude and partly surrounded by palm groves, we will visit Dadés Gorge, whose walls elevate, get narrower and more and more abrupt until reaching 300 meters.

We will continue towards Tinejdad to get to Ksar of Touroug which is enclosed by a lovely oasis. Shortly after, we will penetrate the palm grove of Jorf which goes on until arriving at Erfoud, town which gathers the best dates of the country.

Eventually we will arrive at the desert with its voluptuous dunes, fine gold coloured sands and arrive at the dunes of Merzouga where we will spend the night in a Haimas in the middle of the desert.

Day 5: Desert – Visit to the nomads – Black people – Desert

Sunrise over the sea of dunes. After breakfast return on camels to Merzouga and after a shower visit Khamlia, the village called blacks  because its inhabitants are descendants of the ancient slave trade coming from Sudan.
They’re excellent musicians and art  is  their way of life. With them enjoy a small concert of Gnawa music.

Back to our 4×4 to go back to one of the tracks used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally,” visiting Khol  mines and the remains of a French and Berber village. We will stop to admire the panoramic desert sand of the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We’ll meet desert nomads in  sedentary process with whom  we can have tea and learn more about their way of life.

Return to the hotel. Afternoon free.  Night in desert hotel.

Day 6: Desert – Arfoud – Fes

Sunrise over the sea of dunes. After breakfast and after a shower we leave by 4×4 to Ziz Valley through Erfoud known for its fossils, reaching Midelt, significant population in the Middle Atlas, for lunch and then continue our journey to get to Fez, through Ifrane “Switzerland Moroccan”. Arrival to Fez.  Bed and breakfast in a charming riad.

Day 7:  Fes

City tour guided  to explore the narrow streets of the medina, the historical monuments and craft. Bed and breakfast in a charming riad.

Day 8:  Fes-Volubilis-Chaouen

After breakfast we will go to Chefchaouen with stop  in Roman ruins( Vlubilis). Arrival to  blue city Chefchaouen. Free time and night in a charming riad.

Day 9 : Chefchaouen – Marrakech

We will take you on a tranfer from Chechaouen to Marrakech.
