TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Errachidia to the Merzouga Desert
We will pick you up at the airport and begin our 3-day tour from Errachidia to the Merzouga Desert, passing through the Ziz Valley, whose river flows from the High Atlas and nourishes the palm grove. Here we will stop at a high viewpoint to enjoy a agnificent view of the valley and the town of Aoufous. We will then continue to Erfoud, known for its fossils and high-quality dates. Erfoud is famous for its regional trading center and lively Berber market. We suggest stopping in Rissani to visit its market.
We will continue our journey to the Erg Chebbi desert, where a camel ride across the dunes awaits you to witness a spectacular sunset. Later, we will arrive at the Berber camp, where a delicious dinner and traditional Berber music and dancing await you.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Tissardmine – Nomadic Families – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi
This is a full day in the desert. “Sunrise appointment” — If you’re in the heart of the desert, it’s worth getting up early to witness one of the most spectacular sunrises from the top of a nearby dune and enjoy this natural gift.
After breakfast, we begin our desert excursion. We will go around Erg Chebbi, a vast area of sandy desert home to the Great Dune of Morocco, which rises over 250 meters high. We’ll continue along a road that was once used for the “Paris–Dakar” rally, ending at the mountains bordering Algeria.
We’ll stop at the oasis of Tissardmine, where fossil quarries can still be found in the area, then continue along a road where we can see nomadic settlements and learn about their customs and way of life. Our next stop will be a viewpoint to admire the vast expanse of Erg Chebbi.
We’ll arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will enjoy a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a live performance of Gnawa spiritual music. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation, and you’ll have the afternoon free to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel and watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Aoufous – Errachidia
After breakfast, we begin our journey back to Errachidia. We will drop you off at the airport at the agreed time.
